The City of Fruita (pronounced /frut/) may be a self-government Municipality located within the western a part of Mesa County, Colorado, us. It is part of the Grand Junction Metropolitan Statistical Area and within the Grand Valley. The earth science is known by the bordering Colorado stream (historically celebrated as the Grand River) on the southern edge of city, the Uncompahgre Plateau known for its pinyon-juniper landscape, and also the Book Cliffs vary on the northern fringe of the Grand natural depression. It’s situated eighteen miles (29 km) east of the UT border close to the thirty-nine parallel. The population was eleven,535 at the 2008 census. Originally home to the Ute folks, white farmers settled the town after founder William Pabor in 1884. 10 years later, Fruita was incorporated.
