Detail InformationEdit

The foundation of the Freinberg Parish Church dates back to 1689.
The original church was a wooden structure and was consecrated to Saint Willibald. After a blaze in 1784 the local population had the church rebuilt, but it was not until 1786 that Freinberg obtained parish status.
The altarpiece was made by the renowned artist Josef Bergler (Prague). A painting by the Passau artist Moseder depicts the erection of a cross on top of the steeple, which was erected in 1858/59.
