Freer could be a town in Duval County, Texas, us. The population was three,241 at the 2000 census. Town and county ar heavily Hispanic in quality and Democratic in balloting history. From the 1930s-1960s, the county was dominated by the party boss, known as a patron in South Lone-Star State, George Parr, a supporter of U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson. Parr’s influence waned thenceforth, and he committed suicide at his Los Harcones ranch in 1975.
