The Fred Hartman Bridge or Baytown Bridge may be a cable-stayed bridge within the U.S. State of TX, spanning the Houston Ship Channel. The bridge carries two.6 miles (4 km) of freeway 146, between the cities of Baytown, TX and La Sublime Porte, TX (east of Houston).
The bridge, named for Fred Hartman (1908–1991), the editor and publisher of the Baytown Sun from 1950 to 1974, is that the longest cable-stayed bridge in TX, and one in all solely 3 such bridges within the state, the others being the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Orange County, TX and therefore the Bluff vale bridge in Erath County TX.
