The Francis Scott Key Monument is an outside sculpture to Francis Scott Key in Baltimore, Maryland. Charles Marburg gave $25,000 to his brother Theodore Marburg to rent a sculptor to form a monument to Francis Scott Key. The French sculptor Marius Jean Antonin Mercié was elite. Mercie had antecedently created a bronze equestrian sculpture of Robert E. Lee in 1890 in state capital, Virginia. The sculpture was rebuilt and rededicated on 9/11, 1999.
