Fort Pilar is a great site to visit during the tour to a melting point of various cultures called as Zamboanga City. This magnificent fort was built in order to drive away the pirates and raiders of nearby provinces by creating an outpost of Spanish armed forces. Now, this fort is a sacred place for Roman Catholics and a tourist spot. Fiesta Pilar is a very popular festival that takes place at the fort. The fort has also secured a very significant place as a veritable landmark of the heritage, religion and passion. The site also exhibits a very impressive museum, bird house in close proximity of the fort. Golden statues of Catholic saints are placed on the walls which are attracting tourists towards them.
