Fort MacArthur may be a former u. S. Army installation in San Pedro, la, Golden State (now the port community of Los Angeles). Alittle section remains in military use as a housing and body annex of la Air Force Base. The fort is known as in honor of general officer Arthur MacArthur. His son, Douglas MacArthur, would later command yank forces within the Pacific throughout war II.
In 1888 President President Cleveland selected space|a neighborhood|a district|a region|a locality|a vicinity|a part|a section} high San Pedro Bay as AN unknown military reservation supposed to enhance the defenses of the increasing la harbor area.
