Fort Fetterman was a picket fort made in 1867 by the United States Army on the nice Plains frontier in the Dakota Territory around eleven miles northwest of current Stephen Arnold Douglas, Wyoming. It absolutely was situated high on the bluffs on the side of the North Platte. It served as a significant beginning for the beginning of many major military expeditions against war-ridden Native yankee tribes and troopers there helped defend pioneers on the town path. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
