The First Avenue South Bridge could be a try of double-leaf structure bridges engineered between 1956 and 1998 that carry State Route ninety nine over the Duwamish watercourse regarding 3 miles (5 km) south of downtown point of entry, Washington.
The northward span was in-built 1956 to attach the commercial areas northeast of the Duwamish to the residential neighborhoods to the south and southwest. Between 1996 and 1998, the drawspan was retrofitted and therefore the approaches utterly razed and remodeled. The southward span opened in 1996 and carried traffic in each directions for 2 years whereas the northward span was remodeled.
