Detail InformationEdit

This Chapel was founded by the then parish priest Johann Sebastian Albrecht, who laid the foundation stone in 1725.
The Chapel is dedicated to the Madonna of Altötting. The receptacle contains a replica of the original miraculous image of the Virgin Mary. The canopy at the altar´s side wall is thought to be of 1720.
The altar in late Baroque or rather Rococo style probably dates back to the year 1740. The arrangement as you see it today is the original version with the statues flanking the altar of the year 1740 as well. You´ll see Saint Sebastian, Saint Johannes Nepomuk, two angelic candelabras, two angels and two receptacles. The Baroque style pews probably are from the early 19th century.
In 1834 the tower, the roof timbering and the vestry vaults were destroyed by a fire. As a result the tower and the vestry had to be completely rebuilt in the year 1835. In the course of these works, a new bell was installed, the vaults at the Chapel were touched up and the vestry was newly paved. The magnificent vault paintings probably date back to the year 1897 and were restored in 1998. The Chapel was completely refurbished in 1999.
