Fanase Ghat in Omkareshwar is one of the many bathing ghats on the River Narmada. Mandhata is an island in the shape of letter Om formed by the River Narmada. Omkareshwar Temple at the confluence of the River Narmada and River Kaveri is a holy place for Hindus. There are many Ghats on the river in Omkareshwar named after the erstwhile rulers of the region like Ahilya Ghat, Peshwa Ghat and Fanase Ghat. On normal days one can see hundreds of pilgrims and holy men taking a dip in the river and meditating. On special days like Holi, Purnima and Diwali the number swells to thousands. The river will be full of boats ferrying pilgrims in and out. Tourists can also spare some time to visit Omkareshwar Jyotirling Temple, Satmatrika Temple and Sidhanath Temple.
