The Village of Pouce machine (French for “cut- thumb”) may be a settlement in northeastern Canadian province, Canada, and a member municipality of the Peace watercourse Regional District. It had been originally named ‘Pouskapie’s Prairie’, once the name of the native native band chief. The 2.06 km² (0.80 mi²) municipality is home to 739 residents.
The community was settled by European migrant Hector Tremblay in 1898. Mr. Tremblay, being a French speaking individual, translated ‘Pouskapie’s Prairie’ into the closest French words of comparable sound. Pouce machine is close to ten metric linear unit (6.2 mi) southeast of Dawson Creek on road two. It’s close to thirty five metric linear unit (22 mi) northwest of the Alberta border on road two. The village is at an elevation of 655 metres (2168 ft) within the Peace River Country.
