Ethipothala waterfalls is a mountain stream cascading down the hills from a height of 22 meters the Ethipothala waterfalls are a radiant sight of the power and beauty of nature. This Waterfalls is among the rising tourist attractions in Andhra Pradesh and was not very famous among outside people till recently. But now it is frequently visited by foreigners. It is close to many Buddhist sites which attracts more people to this region. Ethipothala also boasts of a crocodile breeding centre where you can get a fascinating glimpse of these reptiles from close quarters and observe their behavior in their natural habitat. The picture postcard beauty of the place with verdant valleys together with numerous cave temples that dot the hilly countryside have made this a favourite picnic spot. The dazzling, azure lagoon formed at the foot of the falls houses a first-rate crocodile breeding center which is open to the public. The rising place of the river Chandra Vanka is at Muthukuru, on the eastern part of the Nallamala hills.

Ethipothala Waterfall is a famous mountain stream, which falls from a height of approximately 21.3 m into a lagoon. Three streams, namely Nakka Vagu, Tummala Vagu and Chandravanka Vagu combine to form this waterfall. There is also a crocodile-breeding centre at this site that attracts numerous travellers. This waterfall joins Krishna River after flowing for a distance of around 3 km. The site is also popular for the two temples of Ranganatha and Dattatreya. Ethipothala Waterfall is located at a distance of around 15 miles from Nagarjunasagar Dam and houses few caves that extend till Srisailam. This site is on the route to Macherla and has facilities like guesthouses for the travellers.

Taxi : Nagarjunasagar is well connected by a road. The tourist will reach to Nagarjunasagar by taxi. Taxis are available from Hydrabad, Secunderabad, Vijaywada and other major cities. The traditional Indian taxi charges of Rupees eight to twenty are charged for each Kilometre.
Bus : APRTC and private tour operator’s buses are available from Hydrabad, Secunderabad, Vijaywada and other major cities. Distance between Hyderabad to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is 165 km, Road Distance distance from Vijayawada to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is 194 kms
Train : Nagarjunasagar does not have a train station, and the nearest major railway station is Guntur, at a distance of 125 kms from Nagarjunasagar. The nearest local Railway Station is Macherla railway station, around 24 Kms from Nagarjuna-Sagar. Macherla railway station is well connected to major cities of Andhra Pradesh State.
Air : The nearest International Airport from Nagarjuna-Sagar is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, roughly three hour drive from Nagarjuna-Sagar. The Airport is well connected to major cities like Delhi, Goa, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Madurai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Chennai via Air India, Indigo, Jet Airways, Jet Connect and Spice Jet.
