Detail InformationEdit
Eshkaft-e Gavi may be a cave settled within the southern Zagros Mountains of Islamic Republic of Iran and is one among the few archeologic sites within the region to preserve each period and period occupations. Excavation of the positioning by Micheal Rosenberg within the Seventies yielded associate degree assemblage of lithic and faunal remains, as well as variety of human bones and teeth.
Although several of those remains can be Epi-Paleolithic in age, one among the juvenile specimens—the jaw molar—occurs at the bottom of the cave’s period sequence .Four of the specimens show clear proof for intentional butchery within the kind of stone-tool cutmarks. These cutmarked specimens, at the side of a fraction of membrane bone, are burned. Though this proof is per pattern, the tiny sample makes it tough to mention whether or not or not the people drawn by the hominin remains were butchered and overdone for consumption.
