Elliot Lake may be a town in Algoma District, Ontario, Canada. It’s north of Huron, midway between the cities of Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie within the Northern Ontario region.Prior to the settlement of the town, associate Ojibwa village existed close to this hospital web site on the lake’s bounds.The city was established as a planned community for the mining trade in 1955 once the invention of metal within the space, and named once the little lake on its northern edge. It had been originally incorporated as associate improvement district. Scientist monetary unit Joubin and yankee financier Joseph Hirshhorn were instrumental in its beginning.
The principal mining corporations were Denison Mines and city Algom.
