Eastland could be a town in Eastland County, Texas, us. The population was three,769 at the 2000 census. It’s the county courthouse of Eastland County. Throughout the Twenties, Eastland, like close Cisco, Ranger, and Desdemona, were fossil fuel boomtowns. Eastland is understood for the legend of “Old Rip”, a horned lizard that lived a few years sealed within the cornerstone of the previous Eastland courthouse inbuilt 1897. In 1928, this courthouse was erected, the previous cornerstone was opened, and “Old Rip” was found alive. The animal, a form of lizard, received national promotion. It died in 1929 of respiratory illness and was placed in an exceedingly glass-front casket on read within the gift courthouse.
