The East Entrance Sign was on an individual basis listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The sign includes of a locally-quarried red arenaceous rock pillar flanking the east entrance road, with a horizontal log projected from one pylon supporting a symbol.
The sign was designed by the parkland Service Branch of Plans and styles in 1936 and engineered by Civilian Conservation Corps labor from Camp NP-2. It had been altered in 1940 to the planning of Park Service architects H.W. Young and A.C. Kuehl. The sign reflects a regular style theme that was developed for several park structures in Zion.
