The Durham deposit (formerly referred to as the Durham Western Heritage Museum) is found at 801 South tenth Street in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The deposit is devoted to protective and displaying the history of the United States’ western region. The deposit is housed in Omaha’s former Union Station.
The deposit closed from 1995 to 1996 for a $22 million renovation project mostly funded by Charles and Margre Durham. For his or her contributions on the project, the Western Heritage deposit was renamed the Durham Western Heritage deposit the subsequent year. On April 6, 2008 the Durham Western Heritage deposit became the Durham deposit.
The amendment was driven by recent partnerships Smithsonian establishment, the Library of Congress and also the National Archives that have provided the deposit with a bigger vary of shows not restricted to western heritage.The deposit is associate affiliate at intervals the Smithsonian Affiliations program.
