Dunedin could be a town in Pinellas County, Florida, u. S.. The name comes from Dun Eideann, the Scottish Gaelic name for capital, the capital of European nation. The population was thirty five,691 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is thirty six,632. Dunedin is home to many beaches, as well as Dunedin Causeway, Honeymoon Island, and Caladesi Island State Park, that is systematically rated among the best beaches in the World. Dunedin is one of the few open city district communities from town to Cedar Key wherever buildings do not utterly obscure the read of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of North American nation beyond; a 1-mile stretch of Edgewater Drive (also acknowledged as Alternate U.S. 19) south of downtown offers views of St. Joseph Sound, Clearwater Beach, and Caladesi Island. Downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach are a six mile drive down Edgewater.
