The Dossin Great Lakes depository is associate degree historical maritime depository in Motor City, Michigan. Placed on The Strand on young woman islet Park on the Detroit River, this depository places interest group on Detroit’s role on national and regional maritime history. The 16,000-square-foot (1,500 m2) depository options exhibits like one amongst the biggest assortment of model ships within the World, and therefore the bow anchor of the legendary SS Edmund Fitzgerald.
Originally supported in 1949 because the town Maritime depository, aboard the J.T. Wing picket schooner, that was the last business watercraft on the good Lakes, the depository was closed by 1956, thanks to the deteriorating condition of the schooner.
