Doda, believed to be named after a migrant from Multan and a utensil maker Deeda, is a scenic town in the district of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir in India. The district Doda was established in 1948 carved out of the erstwhile Udhampur district in J&K. Nestled amidst lusting green mountains and snowy streams, Doda has a respectable place in the tourism map of Jammu and Kashmir. High altitude peaks and woody dense forests make the region suitable for challenging wild life explorations. Trekking, natural walks, mountaineering and rock climbing are all breathtaking activities attracting adventurous travelers. Doda region is rich in wild life. There are many attractive places in and around Doda town. Some of them are Kishtwar, Bhaderwah and Chinta valley. Kishtwar located at a height of 5,360 ft is rich with flora and fauna. Muskdeer, leopard, snow deer and Neel gai are seen in the mountainous regions. Athra Buja Devi temple, Chandi matha temple, Farid-ud-Din sahib and Zain-Shah-Sahib are important religious places in this region. Bhaderwah, known popularly as Chota-Kashmir, is credited with breathtaking picturesque spots and bewitching natural beauty enthralling the nature lovers. This region offers the tourists distinct experiences of imposing landscapes, amazing colorful fairs and pleasant cool ambiance all through the year.

Doda is a district in eastern part of Jammu region of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the third largest district in Jammu and Kashmir after Leh and Kargil. Doda acquired the status of a district when it was carved out of the erstwhile district of Udhampur in 1948. Doda district is noted for several places of pilgrimage tourism. Kailash Yatra is a well-known pilgrimage of the area which is regarded an important Hindu pilgrimage. The other two pilgrimages revolve around historically significant and religiously noteworthy temple of Gupt Ganga and Vasukinag. Reushra is a majestic peak having a height of 11,000 feet. On one side is situated the sleepy valley of Jai and humming valley of Chinta while on other side is the hitherto unexplored region of Chiralla. Reushira peak is beset with ancient temple of Goddess Durga. Thousands of devotees visit the temple to offer prayers, especially during Navaratris. There are numerous trekking places which are a major attraction among the adventure tourists. Chinta Valley a picturesque valley located at a height of 6,500 ft. It has thick coniferous forest on all sides and Chinta River flowing through it. Many scenic spots are situated around this place.

By Air : The nearest airport to Doda is located at Srinagar, at a distance of 200 kms away. Srinagar is air connected to Delhi with regular flights. Taxis are available from airport to Doda for a fare of about Rs 3000.

By Train : The nearest major railhead is at Srinagar, which is 200 kms away. One can reach Doda from railway station by taxis or buses. Taxi fare is about Rs. 3000.

By Bus : Doda is connected by Jammu and Kashmir state owned road transport corporation buses. Doda is well connected to Jammu (175 km, Rs. 120) and Srinagar (200 km, Rs. 140) by buses. Special luxurious buses will also be available from Jammu and Srinagar to Doda.

By Taxi : There are few taxi operators that are available in the place. These are a good option for getting around the town.

By Other : Some places may have bicycles for hire and these are a fun option. Bicycles can be rented on an hourly basis and they cost around Rs 20 per hour.
