Dixon Place is associate degree Obie Award winning, Off-Off-Broadway the big apple town theater devoted solely to presenting original items of theater, dance, performance art and literature that area unit works current. Dixon Place was based in 1986 as a non-profit organization by creative director Ellie Covan. Operating through many workshop series’, commissioned artists and festivals Dixon Place hosts regarding four hundred artists annually.
Dixon Place has finally rapt into its new house at 161A Chrystie Street. Performances started late Oct 2008. The rostrum includes a completely equipped, flexible, 120-seat laboratory theater, a community house with a lounge and smaller second stage, and a rehearsal studio. Dixon Place has calculable their programming and services can double within the 1st 3 years of the space’s existence.
