The Discovery repository and Planetarium may be a active museum in port, Connecticut, that is each a traveller destination and an academic resource for space colleges. The repository hosts 3 inventive traveling exhibits annually and has permanent area, sound, and electricity galleries. The invention repository was supported in 1958 and opened to the general public in 1962. Its mission is to teach, excite, and have interaction guests within the exploration of science, technology and ideas through interactive experiences that prompt new insights.
The repository seeks to boost public understanding of science through its active natural science exhibits, teaching programs, planetarium displays, and also the rival Learning Center. It’s southern Connecticut’s superior non-profit instructional resource for science and area education. Beginning in 2005, the repository has control Associate in Nursing annual school Fest hosted by David Pogue, technology journalist for the big apple Times. In 2008, the museum’s workers delivered two,200 hours of targeted science lessons to high school teams throughout the year providing quite seven hours of educational time for every weekday that the repository was open.
