Decatur is that the largest town and therefore the seat of Macon County within the U.S. State of Illinois. The city, generally known as “the Soybean Capital of the World”, was supported in 1829 and is found on the Sangamon watercourse and Lake Decatur in Central Illinois. In 2000 the town population was eighty one,500, and 76,122 in 2010, owing to continuing population decline.
