Daskalakis Athletic Center (DAC) could be a two,532-seat multi-purpose arena in city, Pennsylvania. It’s home to the Drexel University Dragons five. It hosted all or a part of the 1993-1996 America East Conference public convenience basketball tournament, the 2005 NIT Season Tip-Off, and therefore the 2007 National invite Tournament. The DAC was in-built 1974 because the education and Athletic Center (PEAC) and was renamed in 2001 once a present from former Drexel participant John A. Daskalakis (’63).
At the 2006 convocation Drexel University president Constantine Papadakis declared a sixty,000-square-foot (5,600 m²), three-story addition to the present Daskalakis Athletic Center. The project, now an 84,000-square-foot (7,800 m²) addition, stony-broke ground in Gregorian calendar month 2008. Construction finished in Dec 2009 and components of the building opened to students in Gregorian calendar month 2010. The Drexel Recreational Center formally opened in Gregorian calendar month. It’s anticipated that the university athletic groups, the Drexel Dragons, are going to be touched over to a recently noninheritable and shortly to be restored Armory building which the DAC are going to be used completely for recreational activities.
