Darbargadh is three storey palace is placed on a high point and is entered through a large carved gateway. Its design resembles a jewellery box and has been taken from the architectural style of the Navlakha Palace of Gondal. It also has ornamented facades comprising designs resembling musicians, geometrical patterns, images of lions, ‘kanguras‘, carved pillars, friezes, and windows framing skyline. The gateway of Darbargadh palace has been built using a huge carved stone combined with high turrets and large wooden doors. Other parts of this structure have a few bastions along with 4 main gates and 3 small gates. The four main gates are named as Kathiawadi Darwaja which is to the east, Halar Gate to the north, Porbandar Gate to the west, and the Junagadh Gate situated to the south. The other three smaller gates are named as the Bhimji Bari, Darbari Bari, and the Sati Bari.
