Danbury was initial settled by colonists in 1685, once eight families stirred to the world from the world that’s currently Norwalk and Stamford. The world was then known as Pahquioque by the Pahquioque yankee Indians. One amongst the primary settlers was Samuel Benedict United Nations agency bought land from the Paquioque natives in 1685 together with his brother James, James Beebe, and Judah Gregory. Originally known as Paquiack (“open plain” or “cleared land”) by native yankee Indians, the settlers selected the name Swampfield for his or her city, however in October 1687, the overall court appointed the name Danbury. The overall court appointed a committee to put out the boundaries of the urban area. A survey was created in 1693, and a proper city patent was granted in 1702 in line with the 1693 survey. Danbury is home to the Danbury Hospital, also as Danbury highschool and Western Connecticut State University.
