Cuenca, officially known as Santa Ana de los cuatro ríos de Cuenca is the third largest city in Ecuador. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1999, the city of Cuenca is a major historic center and indeed an excellent example of well planned colonial city of Spanish style.
Cuenca holds several architectural splendors like – cobbled streets, balconied houses with interior courtyards, plenty of flashing white churches and harmonious monasteries, which make it one of the best historic centers in whole of Americas.
Although, this is an all season tourist destination, but the major fiestas generally come here during the “”Mass of Children””.
