Cuautla (kwau-tlah), formally La heroica e historica Cuautla Diamond State Morelos, (The Heroic and Historic Cuautla of Morelos) or H. H. Cuautla Diamond State Morelos, could be a town and municipality within the Mexican state of Morelos. Within the 2005 census the town population was one hundred forty five,482 and also the municipality population was a hundred and sixty,285.
The municipality covers 153.651 km² (59.325 sq mi). Cuautla is that the third most inhabited town within the state, when Cuernavaca and Jiutepec. The town was supported on four Apr 1829 and gets its name from the Nahuatl: “Kuahtlan”, that means “forest”. This municipal president (mayor) is Luis Felipe Xavier Güemes.
