Csorna, a town that deserves to be proud of its past and present changes. It’s sizeable geometrical church; it’s palaces from the end of the last century, recalling era of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchie; the block of office buildings of the Townhall built in the spirit of contemporary architecture, all bear witness to its role as a town , even though it only regained the rank hardly 25 years ago.
The beautiful landscape main square is ruled by the palace of the Premonstratensian Order- who settled down here in the age of Árpáds-, built in the 19th century and now housing a museum, a church and a café. There is a local history and rich folkloristic exhibitionin the building of the Premonstratensian provostship. You can also get to know the profession of the blue-dyers of Csorna and that of the potters of Dör. You can find the Sacred Heart Church in the projection of the Saint Stephen Square. It was built between 1936-1938. in order to replace the Saint Helen Churchwhich had burned down. On the southern side of the square spreads the Row of Palaces. The storeyed row of houses built at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th. The corner buildings located on the eastern and western side are the most valuable parts of this row of houses which is significant from the point of view of the townscape.
