Situated on the right bank of the Répce River, Csepreg, once belonging to Sopron Country and looking back to a long medieval market town past. There are large vineyards and woodlands suitable for hiking on the outskirts. The most notable historic monument is the Uppertown church dedicated to St. Nicholas. The stately home of the Nádasdys on Széchenyi Square originated in the Middle Ages. The Rottermann Mansion in Kossuth Street was built in the 19th century. The Romantic style Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel stands outside the town.
