The Maya ar believed to possess initial settled Cozumel by the first a part of the first millennium AD, and older Preclassic Olmec artifacts are found on the island similarly. The island is concerning forty eight kilometer (30 mi) long and sixteen kilometer (9.9 mi) wide, and is Mexico’s largest island. It’s Mexico’s third-largest island, following Tiburón Island and Isla Ángel First State la Guarda.[citation needed] It lies some ten kilometer (6.2 mi) from the earth, and ninety kilometer (56 mi) south of Cancún.
