Cow Camp, settled in Joshua tree parkland, was related to cows rustling within the Eighteen Eighties and Nineties. It absolutely was then later used as a line camp for cows husbandry. Keys.The camp was 1st established by the “McHaney Gang” within the late 1880’s. Cows rustlers used the camp into the 1890’s. Jim McHaney seemingly dead the discoverer of the Desert Queen Mine before losing it to a bank, then sold-out Cow Camp in 1894 to St. George Myers. McHaney eventually was guilty of counterfeiting $20 gold items in gold-plated lead and was sentenced to seventeen years in jail. Within the 1920’s Bill Keys, WHO had familial McHaney’s holdings, took over Cow Camp as a part of his husbandry operation.
