Detail InformationEdit

The Courthouse Wash Pictographs ar a series of enormous pictographs created over an extended amount of your time, settled on a secure arenaceous rock wall up Arches parkland, Utah. The series of pictures depict a range of figures, several of them humanlike and mensuration up to five feet (1.5 m) tall. The Courthouse wash web site is found close to the junction of Courthouse Wash with the Colorado stream, extending over a 100-meter section of geological formation base.
The pictographs embrace painted figures resembling those found in Horseshoe ravine in Canyonlands parkland, thirty five miles (56 km) to the west. Different figures, together with those of animals, are incised by removal of the rock’s covering of desert varnish. The painted figures follow the Barrier ravine vogue and ar believed to be between 1500 and 4000 years recent. The incised figures ar attributed to the John Charles Fremont culture and ar dated to concerning 1000-1200 AD. Figures mounted on horseback were created in historical times since the sixteenth century introduction of horses and ar attributed to Navajo or Ute artists.
