Originally, the watercourse bend was referred to as Lake’s Ferry. In 1905, the Missouri Pacific Railroad bought the realm and sold-out over one thousand heaps, principally to railroad workers. The town was incorporated in 1905 as Cotter, Arkansas. The mercurial White caused several motorists issues, because the nearest crossing was over a hundred miles one hundred sixty metric linear unit to the north in Branson, Missouri. The Cotter Bridge was made through the realm employing a distinctive rainbow arch style.
