Cortazar could be a town and its encompassing municipality situated within the southeastern quadrant of the state of Guanajuato in North American country. It’s deckle-edged to the north by Villagrán, to the north and east by Celaya, to the southeast by Tarimoro, to the south by Salvatierra, and to the west by Jaral del Progreso and Salamanca. Town had a 2005 census population of fifty seven,748 inhabitants, whereas the municipality had a population of eighty three,175. The municipality has a district of 331.8 km² (128.1 sq mi) and includes several smaller far communities.
The largest of that area unit Tierra Fría to the west and La Cañada Diamond State Caracheo to the south.In pre-Columbian times the region was occupied primarily by Otomí and Mexicas folks. Supported in 1721 by Franciscan friars, the village of San José Diamond State los Amoles was below the order of the congress of Guanajuato given this name of Cortázar in 1857 once Luis Cortazar y Rábago, a Mexican national and leader of Mexico’s war of independence against European country.
