Cornwall school is found on Orange Street in city, St. James. County school may be a public highschool for boys set on one, Orange Street in city, St. James. It’s the third oldest highschool within the county of county. The varsity was started in 1896 at the Barracks Road in city and was originally known as “Montego Bay Government Secondary School”.During 1910 and 1911, thirty four acres (140,000 m2) of land were bought at the Pleasant Hill Estate wherever the establishment was resettled. The varsity was formally opened at the new location in 1911 by the then Governor of Jamaica, Sir poet jazz musician. In 1922, the varsity was renamed county school. In 1953, the primary Jamaican national to be principal of county school, E A Barrett became head. The school’s population by then had enlarged to over 650 boys. County school was named the primary government college in Jamaica and was conjointly the primary highschool within the West Indies to supply chemistry and physics as subjects in its course of study. This gave county school the excellence of manufacturing most of Jamaica’s doctors and pharmacists for several years.
