Coon Rapids may be a northern suburbia of Minneapolis, and is that the largest town in Anoka County, Minnesota, u. s.. creating it the twelfth largest town in Gopher State and also the seventh largest urban area suburbia. Originally based as a section of Anoka town in 1857, Coon Rapids became a separate village in 1952. In 1959, it became a town. It retains its original boundaries, apart from the half that became town of Anoka.
