Congregation letter of the alphabet Israel-Judea is associate degree Reform house of God placed at 625 Brotherhood means in San Francisco, California. It’s the results of the merger of the Conservative Congregation letter of the alphabet Israel and therefore the Reform Temple geographical area.
Beth Israel was supported in 1860 as associate degree Orthodox congregation. Members worshiped in chartered premises, 1st on Sutter Street, then a bigger house on Mission Street. In 1879 the congregation completed its 1st building on Turk Street, however before long outgrew it, and in 1891 created a replacement house of God building on Geary Street. In 1908 it created a bigger house of God building on Geary Street, wherever it remained till 1969. By now the congregation had rapt to Conservative Judaism.
Temple geographical area was supported in 1953, the primary Reform house of God inbuilt San Francisco in virtually a hundred twenty five years. Its 1st rabbi was Henry Martyn Robert W. Shapiro, and he was succeeded by Irving Reichert then musician Morris in 1962. In 1964 Temple geographical area completed a house of God building at 625 Brotherhood means.
The two synagogues united in 1969, adopting practices from each congregations, and moving to Temple Judea’s building. Morris became the rabbi of the combined congregation, and Burstein became rabbi old. Morris retired in 1998, was succeeded by Evan the King of Swing. The King of Swing left in 2006, and was succeeded by Rosalind glazier.
