Colonie could be a city in Albany County, New York, u. s.. it’s the foremost inhabited community of Albany, New York, and is that the third largest city in space in Albany County, occupying concerning Martinmas of the county. many hamlets exist inside the city. The name springs from the Dutch Colonye or “Colonie,” derived from the Colonie of Rensselaerswyck. All the land outside the Village of Beverwyck (now Albany) was named because the “Colonie.” The city of Colonie is north of Albany, New York, and is at the northern border of the county. Within the town of Colonie are two villages, one conjointly referred to as Colonie and also the different referred to as Menands.
