Cologno Monzese is a comune in the Province of Milan in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 5 km north-east of Milan. Its population is 47567. The population increase took place after the World War II, when lots of immigrants from Southern Italy settled here.
Cologno received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on September 19, 1996. In this town, there are the studios of many Italian networks, like Mediaset, controlled by Berlusconi, the former Prime Minister of Italy.
The most important sights in Cologno are Villa Casati, the seat of the Comune, and San Giuliano, an ancient Romanesque church.
