The Colman Building could be a historic office block set in metropolis, Washington. It occupies a half a block in downtown metropolis in proximity to Pioneer sq., sure by 1st Avenue, Marion and Columbia Streets. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places furthermore as being a town of metropolis landmark.
The building was in-built many stages with a modification of style between 1889 and 1906. It had been commissioned by Scottish migrator and master artisan James Colman United Nations agency arrived in metropolis in 1872. Creator Sir Leslie Stephen Meany designed the initial plans whereas the reconstruction that’s visible these days was designed by August Tidemand impressed by the Chicago faculty with less ornamentation and huge pivoting windows. The forged iron components from the initial building stay on the primary floor, whereas the second floor was remodeled of rusticated stone. Four floors of red brick cut with marble were engineered on high of this. The building is topped with a copper cornice.
