The Coleman A. Young down town could be a business office building and courthouse in Downtown city. Originally referred to as the City-County Building, it absolutely was renamed for the previous city civil authority Coleman A. Young, shortly once his death in 1997. It is the town of city government headquarters.
The Coleman A. Young down town homes offices, courtrooms, and meeting rooms. The class-A building is found close to the Renaissance Center, Hart Plaza, One city Center, curtilage by Marriott – Downtown city, and also the Millender Center.
The modernist International-style building was designed by the field firm of Harley, jazz musician and Day. Construction began on the edifice in 1951 and was completed in 1954. It’s twenty floors tall, and together with the basement has twenty one total floors.
