The Coleman A. Young down town could be a office building and courthouse in Downtown city. Originally referred to as the City-County Building, it had been renamed for the previous city politician Coleman A. Young, shortly when his death in 1997. It is town of city government headquarters.
The Coleman A. Young down town homes offices, courtrooms, and meeting rooms. The class-A office block is found close to the Renaissance Center, Hart Plaza, One city Center, curtilage by Marriott – Downtown city, and also the Millender Center.
The modernist International-style building was designed by the field firm of Harley, jazzman and Day. Construction began on the building in 1951 and was completed in 1954. It’s twenty floors tall, and as well as the basement has twenty one total floors.
