Originally designed for personal use, the observatory was sold-out to Elmer Harrold, another personal owner, World Health Organization given to Mount Union school upon the graduation of his girl from the school. A brand new observatory was designed on field to accommodate the observatory in 1923 and outfitted with the telescope from the primary Clarke Observatory. The second observatory was razed in 1969 and also the telescope captive to a brand new home connected to East Hall at Mount Union school.
