Cival is associate archeologic web site within the Petén Basin region of the southern Maya lowlands, that was erst a serious town of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. It’s settled within the current Department of Petén, Guatemala.
The site flourished from concerning the sixth century BC through the first century, throughout the Maya Pre-Classic amount (see: Mesoamerican chronology). It should have had a peak population of some ten,000 people.
The site is concerning twenty five miles (40 km) east of Tikal, on a ridge over the neighborhood of the Holmul watercourse.
