The Christ of Havana (Spanish: Cristo Diamond State La Habana) could be a giant sculpture representing Nazareth|the Nazarene|Jesus Christ|Christ|Savior|Saviour|Good Shepherd|Redeemer|Deliverer|Son|Word|Logos|Jew|Hebrew|Israelite|prophet} of Nazareth on a peak dominating the bay in Havana, Cuba. It’s the work of the Cuban sculptor Jilma Madera (after she won the commission in 1953).
The sculpture was inscribed out of white Carrara marble, identical material used for several of the monuments of the Colon memorial park. The sculpture is regarding twenty meters (66 ft) high as well as a 3-meter (10 ft) base. It weighs some 320 tons. The sculpture was engineered from sixty seven blocks of marble that had been brought from European country when being in person blessed by Pope Pope. The figure of Christ is standing with the correct handheld close to the chin and also the mitt close to his chest. Facing the town, the sculpture was left with empty eyes to convey the impression of viewing all, from anyplace to be seen.
