Chippewa Falls could be a town set on the Chippewa stream in Chippewa County within the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Incorporated as a town in 1869, it is the county seat of Chippewa County. The city’s name originated due to its location on the Chippewa stream, which is called after the Ojibwa Native Americans. Chippewa is an alternate rendition of Ojibwa.
