Chevron Science Center could be a landmark educational building at 219 Parkman Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, us on the field of the University of Pittsburgh. The 15-story facility, completed in 1974, was designed by Kuhn, Newcomer & Valentour and homes the university’s department of chemistry. Since 1910 the positioning had been occupied by the previous State Hall, the primary building erected upon Pitt’s move within the early twentieth century to the urban center field.The $14.7 million value ($77 million today) of Chevron Science Center was partly offset by a $2 million grant ($11.1 million today) from the National Science Foundation. Upon its completion, it had been the biggest college building for chemistry instruction and analysis east of the Mississippi.
