Cheviot may be a town situated in west central Hamilton County, Ohio, u. s.. The population was nine,015 at the 2000 census. In 1814 a Scottish migrant named John Craig purchased a [*fr1] section of 320 acres (1.3km2) of inexperienced town from Elias Boudinot. He engineered Associate in Nursing hotel and building on the Harrison Pike. In 1818 Craig set out a village that he named when the Ovis aries Hills in southern Scotland. He sold heaps and growth began. The city was incorporated in 1901. Originally a farming community, nowadays Ovis aries may be a residential residential district of city.
